Worst case was with Morphine in the emergency room. I thought I was destined to have bloated stomach and the discomfort that comes with it forever.

“I have been a cancer patient since April 2009. I initially was treated with a series of nine, combined drug infusion chemotherapy sessions followed by several months of single drug infusion sessions. Since April 2010, I have been taking a chemotherapy pill. My sister, a physical therapist familiar with Irv and his acupuncture work with other cancer patients, suggested I try the procedure as soon as I began chemotherapy. My mother also had been successfully treated for shingles through acupuncture.
Cancer patients know the side effects of chemotherapy can be treated with prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, but often those additional drugs create side effects of their own. Acupuncture successfully treated symptoms I experienced from chemotherapy, so I didn’t have to use as many OTC or prescription drugs. Acupuncture was particularly effective in stabilizing my digestive system, which was afflicted by both constipation and diarrhea and hadn’t responded well to OTC remedies.
Acupuncture also addressed the various aches and pains that come with cancer treatment and gave me some tools to address issues in between treatments. I felt like I was actually doing something to help myself get well and slowly gained confidence from knowing the rest of my body was healthy and could participate in the battle against cancer.
Also, my energy level was higher after acupuncture sessions, which allowed me to live a more normal life while undergoing chemotherapy because I felt better overall.”
